Named after the parenthesis symbol, the Parentesi pendant light designed by renowned designer Achille Castiglioni, is a stripped back ceiling to floor suspension light providing thoroughly adjustable light emission. Designed in 1971, this simple yet functional lamp provides direct and flexible light.
The Parentesi lamp body is mounted on a coloured painted or nickel-plated shaped steel tubes with a light source which moves vertically via sliding on a ceiling-to-floor steel cable (4m long). This construction allows the Parentesi’s light to be fixed at any point and directed as required - making it the perfect companion for tasking or to highlight architectural details.
On a steel cable, this light affixes to the floor and ceiling and includes an elastomer moulded tube bulb housing which can be moved up and down the length of the cable. A striking piece wherever placed, the bulb’s light can be directed with ease making it a unique reading or task light.
